But it may be uncomfortable if one stays in it for long. In the next few blogs I will explore some yoga based positioning that may help make this position more comfortable and allows the Breath to flow in and out easier and deeper.
Standing as Posture Care challenge
Why do some of us like to stay in this sitting pose and why do we chose to cross legs when we sit?
Reclined sitting with leg crossed. There are a few possible explanations as to why many able individuals often stay in this pose. One possible explanation is that it is an energy-saving strategy. The body places the weight on a large area and therefore there is a reduction in the need for muscle activity (energy preservation). The crossing of the legs may add to the stability of the body to stay in the pose with reduced tendency to slide or to move.
