From Yoga to Posture Care - Pavanamuktasana

The name of this pose comes from the Sanskrit words pavan meaning "wind", mukta meaning "relieve" and asana (आसन) meaning "posture" or "seat".  (from Wikipedia). This yoga pose is helpful for people who have postural, mobility and digestive issues.  Individuals who are wheelchair users will find this pose most helpful to relieve digestive issues while being supported in a good alignment.  Therapists should seek an Iyengar Yoga teacher to assist and or experience themselves Iyengar Yoga practice to be able to apply this correctly.  Highly advised!
